Los Angeles County

The DMH Online Provider Search can help you locate a mental health clinic or facility that is closest to your location, and provide more information about that facility, such as age group served, and services provided.Information about providers on this website is in process.  The information will be updated quarterly as the information becomes available to us.

The distance (as listed from your location to nearest providers, on the Basic and Advanced Provider Search pages) may be different from the distance when you click on “Directions”. This is because the distance listed on the Basic and Advanced Provider Search pages is called a “crow’s flight” distance—the shortest path between two points. Driving direction distance may be longer, to navigate roads and freeways.

Address Matching Tips

When matching an address, keep in mind that some common errors in addresses:

  1. Incorrect or Missing ZIP Codes
  2. Incorrect spelling of street names
  3. Incorrect address numbers
  4. Too much address detail (for example, Apt / Suite / Space / Room Number is not necessary), making it harder for address matching
  5. Any additional characters in address field such as # or dashes (-)
  6. Address NOT located within Los Angeles County.
  7. “Los Angeles” abbreviated to “L.A.” in the City/Zipcode box. Please type out city name completely.

And finally, if the address is correct and is in LA County… but you still can’t match it, it is probably an address in a new developing area of Los Angeles. Address locators are updated periodically to incorporate these changes in Los Angeles County, but may not contain all recent developments, in which case you can continue on to searching the next address.

HINT:  Go to http://maps.yahoo.com or www.mapblast.com to look up the address and see if it is a valid or good address…most often times you can find what is wrong with the address so you can correct it in the address locator to try to match the address.  Sometimes you can even put the nearest intersection in the address locator to match the address (example: Maple St & W 142nd St ) use the “&” for intersection.

TRICKY STREET NAME:  Of course some addresses are trickier than others, you will probably have to delete certain parts of the street names or put in spaces to split the street name.
